Users have a wide choice of commercial unit testing tools and opensource frameworks. While commercial tools are usually prepared to meet safety-related development requirements, open source frameworks require adaptation and investment before they can be used in this kind of development environment. On the other hand, advanced functionalities rely on open source libraries, which are available with unit test cases written in open source frameworks such as Google Test.
