Microchip Workshop: Effortless Design

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Microchip’s Effortless Design workshop will allow attendees to learn about the products and system solutions for edge node IoT systems that Microchip has to offer.

Included in this full-day workshop will be hands-on sessions, informative presentations and access to experts in the key areas of microcontrollers, wireless technology, security, power management and sensor interfacing. A key theme of the workshop is effortless design, which allows the engineer to concentrate on solving the actual problem instead of fighting all the little details. Software development tools such as MPLAB® Code Configurator (MCC) and Atmel START will be demonstrated which allow designers to rapidly prototype IoT designs in both the hardware and software domain.

Attendees will be able to see a wide selection of Microchip’s hardware development tools in action from low-cost, entry-level to high-end systems with dynamic power measurement capability. Also featured will be new reference designs from Microchip’s IoT partners. In keeping with the effortless design theme, Microchip’s sponsored workshop is flexible to allow attendees to stay for an hour or for the entire day.

AGENDA
10:00AM-1:00PM
Effortless Design Workshop: Advanced Arduino® Debugging
Have you ever wanted to move your Arduino Sketches into a professional development environment with full debug capabilities? This session will introduce you to the Arduino Sketch import capability in Atmel Studio 7, which allows for full source code debugging. You’ll get to keep the ATmega328P Xplained Mini and the JTAGICE3 debugger which provides everything needed to implement source level debugging on Arduino projects. Limited seating! Lunch provided.

1:00PM-3:00PM
8-bit Microcontroller IoT Focus
This session will provide you with a solid understanding of the different parts of an IoT device. You will learn how to evaluate the different components that should be in your next design. The instructor will discuss "things" and how to interface with a microcontroller in the most efficient way possible using hardware called "core-independent peripherals". The class will finish with a demo that brings together the different lessons learned.

3:00PM-4:30PM
Multi-Cloud Enrollment with 32-bit MCU and Trustonic Kinibi-M Security Software
Experience a live demo showcasing the capability of factory pre-provisioned identity stored in SAM L11 used to authenticate multiple cloud ecosystem. Since the identity is cloud-agnostic, the IoT device has the flexibility to connect to the cloud provider of choice. Most importantly, the device manufacturer does not have to re-architect or re-program a board for each cloud provider saving cost and time to the market.

4:30PM-5:00PM
Ask the Experts
Meet with Microchip’s experts and get your questions answered.

All ETC attendees can attend free of charge; must opt in during registration or in the Attendee Resource Center. Space is limited; first-come, first-seated.
